dragon-i

Inside dragon-i's members' room there's a door marked 115 — the BPM the owner prefers, not a table number. That single figure says more about the 2026 rebuild than a capacity count could: one owner, one Central address, twenty-four years, and a designer he spent fourteen years choosing.

Upper Hong Kong

The soft opening ran four nights, 24–27 June 2026, and it was the Lan Kwai Fong Group's own account that put a name to it, not Upper's. Behind the room sits a Bangkok operator that has never named a founder in public — its first address outside Thailand, eight floors up a tower that already ran two clubs.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

The Old Man

Three bartenders with no financial backer built a room out of wood, brass and pineapple lamps on a SoHo side street in 2017. Two years later it was named the best bar in Asia. Nine years on, under new hands, it is still pouring.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

Socio

A ground-level cocktail bar on Staunton Street that builds its list from what the neighbourhood throws away — oyster shell into vodka, banana peel into a whiskey highball — one Asia-Pacific country per drink.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

Tell Camellia

Tell Camellia's tea liqueurs start in Nepalese tea gardens and finish in a windowless room off Pottinger Street — and after four years outside the rankings, the bar is back on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026, tagged a re-entry at No. 81.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

The Savory Project

Four Staunton Street builds cocktails the way a kitchen builds a dish — beef stock, miso, MSG, Sichuan peppercorn — and the bar built on that idea has now ranked on Asia's 50 Best Bars for three years running, landing at No.60 on the 2026 extended list.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

The Diplomat

Order the Tarling at The Diplomat and the cookies show up free the moment the bill does — a ritual the Central bar has kept since it opened in 2020, pandemic pivot included. It hasn't cracked Asia's 50 Best Bars since 2021, but Tatler put it on Hong Kong's Best 20 Bars two years running, 2025 and 2026.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

The Opposites

Order the pisco at The Opposites and the bartender asks which version — one founder's or the other's. The Hollywood Road bar just climbed 26 places to No. 54 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026, in a year Hong Kong put seven bars on the main list.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

Coa

On Shin Hing Street, a bar named after the tool jimadores use to cut agave from the ground held Asia's No.1 spot three years running and still ranks in 2026 — the address hasn't moved since 2017.

Venue·16 Aug 2026

Quinary

Antonio Lai opened Quinary on Hollywood Road in 2012 with a martini topped with fake caviar and whipped Earl Grey foam. Fourteen years later the drink hasn't moved, the lab behind it is still running, and the bar's place on the awards circuit has quietly changed.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Argo

Inside the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, a circular bar wrapped in revolving shagreen cylinders backs up its case for a place among Asia's best — No. 37 in 2026.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Penicillin

Hong Kong's first closed-loop bar turns a neighbour's avocado stones into a cocktail, plants a tree in Borneo for every sale, and just placed #49 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Montana

Lorenzo Antinori's follow-up to Bar Leone trades Rome for 1970s Havana — and landed at #47 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 inside a year of opening.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

GOKAN

Shingo Gokan built his Hong Kong debut around the number five — five senses, five flavours, five ways of cooking — on a stretch of Central that used to store the city's ice.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Mius

Twelve drinks, six ingredients each, no reservations taken. A year after opening on Gough Street, Shelley Tai's first solo bar sits at No. 36 on Asia's 50 Best.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Bar Leone

The room that made Rome's neighbourhood-bar idea travel: a walk-in-only address on Bridges Street that Hong Kong voted the best bar on the planet.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

FAYY

Twenty-six floors above Lan Kwai Fong, someone hung a fairground carousel over the bathroom sinks — set exactly where the mirror photos happen. That's FAYY: the room Volar's team built after seventeen years underground, and five years on, it's still booking Saturdays.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Versus

Volar ran this basement for seventeen years before it closed in 2021. Versus reopened the same room under a new name and made no attempt to replace what was there — it rents the two spaces out nightly to whoever has a crowd, from trance crews to Bollywood promoters to the official Clockenflap afterparty. Same stairs. Different night, every night.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Cassio Social Club

There's a Marco Brambilla video installation on the second floor of LKF Tower, and most of Hong Kong doesn't know it's there. That's Cassio.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Shuffle

Walk past the bar at Shuffle and the wall behind it is doing something: roughly 250 electronic bottles, lit and synced to the track. That's the least surprising thing about the highest-rated club in Lan Kwai Fong — 4.8 out of 5 from 331 reviews — and almost nobody has written about why.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Space Club

Space Club climbed from 92nd to 69th on DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs in a single year — the sharpest rise of any Hong Kong room — out of a 500-capacity, Funktion-One floor on Wyndham Street that runs its whole operation off Instagram, WhatsApp and a Korean-language booking channel.

Venue·15 Aug 2026

Boomerang

A motorised ceiling turns over a Funktion-One rig in the old Hard Rock Cafe space — and for six straight years Boomerang has climbed DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs without a single year in reverse, to #32 in 2026.
